Alzheimer's Family and Caregiver Support Program (AFCSP)
The Wisconsin Alzheimer's Family and Caregiver Support Program or AFSCP is intended to provide assistance to low and middle income families throughout the state that have a family member who is suffering from Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or other related memory disorder. The program offers assistance by providing a combination of services that help both the individual and the family members who are caring for them.
The specific benefits of the AFCSP are determined by the county and the specific needs of the applicant and their caregivers. Typically the programs pay, at least in part, for the services listed below. Annual per person spending is limited to $4,000.
- Attendant / Personal care
- Adult day care
- Durable medical equipment
- Home / Environmental modifications
- Home delivered meals
- Personal emergency response / Security services to prevent wandering
- Respite care
- Transportation assistance
